3.4.2013

Americans have a 8.5 tank preview on their server (didn't notice the same thing on EU server, hence the US link)

- according to SerB, there is no corellation between shooting distance and damage done (a player was complaining that when shooting over 300m, shells do less than average damage more often)
- regarding the rule where a player is not allowed by the MM to play as a top team tank for too long: in one-tier battles (battles where all the tanks are f.x. tier 1 or 2), this rule does not apply (SS: conclusion - it works with a tier position, not balancing weight)
- Q: "what will happen to VK3002DB tier-wise in 0.8.5?" A: "For now you can only guess"
- Indienpanzer has the Bundeswehr cross, because it's a post-war vehicle
- there won't be any copyrighted decals on vehicles
- the ability to spot a tank does not depend on how much of the tank you can see (eg. a fully uncovered tank has the same chance to be spotted as a tank completely covered by an obstacle with only one visibility checkpoint sticking out)
- there are plans to introduce Soviet lowtier tank destroyers, such as GAZ-75 or SU-45
- there are no plans to introduce additional gun to SU-101
- SerB wrote that some maps are removed when they are unfit for gameplay. A player then asked if that is so, why do they stay in company battles? Answer: "Clarification - they are unfit for gameplay in random battles."
- Tank "121" is not WZ-121 or Type 69
- Indienpanzer confirmed to have a 90mm gun
- Q: "Indienpanzer's gun has the same parameters as Pershing's T15E2M2, why was it written in the review that it's ´heavily armed´?" A: "It's a really heavy gun :)"

  3. Hello guys. When talking about 0.8.5... Are there any info about Sexton? I mean will it have some reasonable firing range and not just a half of the map? I don't wanna be downloading the test client as my internet is really not good.

    1. Look at the Priest. It's reasonable to assume the Sexton will be a lot like it.

    2. i'm sure someone will download it and try it :) so if u wait it will appear in forums and/or youtube :) but if it comes tomorrow i'll download, try and post it :)

    3. I played with Priest and I was OK with it. I was just a bit afraid of having a short range like the M37's stock gun as Sexton will be tier III. Thanks anyway

  4. Why does WG not introduce the low tier TDs? :/
oh, and it seems like the Indienpanzer will be more "about the gun and not the mobility". :D

    1. Because - let's face it, a lot of players skip new lowtier vehicles (and those who don't are mocked as "seal clubbers"), yet the vehicles cost the same resources to develop as the hightier ones. In other words: price/gain ration

  5. Oh man this description on the Indien panzer on the US site worries me..

    >Don't mistake this for a Lowe. Sure, it may look like it,
    >but this tank will be one of the most heavily armored tier VIII vehicles,
    >obviously affecting its mobility on the battlefield.
    >It's also quite easy to research this vehicle up to the top
    >configuration set since there are very few alternate modules available for mounting.

    do not want...

    1. Yea kinda creepy. I expected (hoped for) a nimble, hard hitting vehicle, what we'll get probably more resembles the Superpershing.

    2. May have to wait for the RU251.

    3. Holy Shot-Trap Batman....

That being said..I'll still get one. ;)

  6. The slopes on the indienpanzer's frontal armor look sweet.
Let's now hope it has a reasonable gun depression so it can hide the uncomfortable weakspots.

  7. "But this tank will be one of the most heavily armored tier VIII vehicles, obviously affecting its mobility on the battlefield..."

Well, there goes my hopes and dreams of a nimble yet hardhitting german tier VIII :( *I'm already tired of my Super Pershing, meh*

    1. It may be not-that-slow, but f.e. get 48 MM weight instead of 40, which will put it in-line with T8 heavies. It would be kind of cool, because American T69 alrady has 48 MM weight, so the more meds "on par" with heavies the better.

  8. I had a look at the AFK.panther:
    >Once you equip the best turret on this vehicle, you'll get a larger depression angle which significantly facilitates firing from uneven terrain.
hmmm.....interesting, I was expecting it will have lesser than 8 which is not "larger depression angle" at all.

    1. "larger" only in relation to the stock turret, so it depends on how much the stock one sucks -Xlucine

    2. IMO it'll go from 2 to 4-5 degrees - still pretty damn bad. But it seems that the gun will be a rather good piece of armanent. I just wish Aufscheissungpanzer Panther looked better and got some turret with actual armor...

  9. For 8.5
Ectar said in OT of the Forum the (personaly dreaded) "Stalinist" decal will be gone.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It doesnt say "Stalinist", it says "Stalinec" which was nothing more then a tractor.

Not to mention, the same whiners seem to miss, that half of the soviet tanks are named "Joseph Stalin".

      Delete
    2. ....and the tractor was named after....? As for the IS series, it's historical. After all, the LB-1 gun was named after Berija. But Stalinec... it's simply unnecessary.

      Delete
    3. So you have a problem because there is decal of a tractor named after Stalin (Which is totaly historical btw), yet the IS naming of tanks doesnt bother you?

I really dont uderstand the logic here.

Awww, I'm disappointed too. Like you guys I pictured a mobile tank. It's not the gun parameters that make the Persh fun... well, that one has accuracy on the move... Maybe it'll be fun to bounce the odd medium tank shell.

  12. VK 30.01 (d) will be researched from PzKpfw III/IV right? If this description is correct it will perform like VK 30.02 (d) and Cromwell had a child?

I hope all these tanks end up being good(unlike usual where at least one tank in a line sticks out like a sore thumb).

    2. Me, I found it absolutely hilarious.

You guys have no sense of humor.

And I don't really understand the question, since according to the leak, it's better than the T15E2M2 in pretty much every single way except possibly aiming speed (22 more penetration, better RoF, MUCH more accurate).

  14. EU sucks my balls. Those stupids "banned" this blog there. On NA server i even saw devs actually discuss what has been leaked here. Banning or closing the threads is out of question.

  15. Silent Stalker, I wonder if the first Test Server will have any infos regarding the T57.

Is there any way you could post a smart question on the russian Q&A regarding the possible change of characteristics of T57 in the next period of time?

Between you and me I am really afraid of the nerf that will hit T57.

    4. Silent, how many Battles need someone to post on the rus Q&A? 5k? 10k?

    5. SilentStalker will not bot 5k battles to ask one question and get 196 days of RO.

I expect someone else to do it for him.

But my question still stands :)
